Every March 8, we comemmorate
this history day. Women are equal with men, in any aspect of life. For
education, job, and for every access which they should get. I remember when I
was in Norway for ISFIT, then one night in Cultural Day, the questions was
about Women Day, and Karla, our friend from Peru answered this correctly, at
the end we almost became a winner. Viva Ladies!
And how about in Indonesia? We
marked this day as a special day for all of us, not only for women but also for
all of Indonesian citizens. “Kartini Day”, April 21, National Women Day of
Indonesia. This year, I and kak Tanty composed tweets on Sabang Merauke
twitter. This is our reflection, representing Sabang Merauke (Seribu Anak
Bangsa Merantau Untuk Kembali):
Setiap tanggal 21 April tentu kita ingat sosok
pejuang perempuan, harapan akan kebangkitan perempuan Indonesia pd waktu silam.
Ya, Kartini.
Tiap tahun kita rayakan hari bersejarah ini,
lagu utk mengenang Ibu Kartini kita lantunkan, perempuan Indonesia merayakan
dgn caranya msg2.
Perjuangannya tdk habis olh
waktu, Ia menggerakkan wanita& bangsa pada umumnya utk mendapat pendidikan,
membuka kesempatan berkarya bg semua
Habis Gelap Terbitlah
Terang bukan sekedar kumpulan surat. Dari sana Srikandi Indonesia bangkit
meraih mimpi utk mjd bagian karya bangsa ini
Hal tersebut selaras dgn nilai SabangMerauke.
Semua orang wajib mendapat pendidikan, tanpa terkecuali jenis kelamin, suku,
maupun agamanya
"Saya mau!" dua kata tegas dari
Kartini.
Perjuangan tidak mudah,
selalu ada rintangan. Namun tetaplah berjalan dan berjuang untuk pendidikan dan
Indonesia yang lebih baik!
Selamat hari perjuangan perempuan Indonesia!
Katakan dengan tegas, "Saya Mau!" kepada dunia dan ceritakan mimpi
kalian!
Saya Mau menciptakan Indonesia yg lebih
toleran, anak Indonesia punya kesempatan menempuh pendidikan setinggi2nya &
tumbuhnya nasionalisme!
The main points of these tweets
are about the struggle of Kartini, our women hero, fighted for women’s right
long time ago to get the same access for education as men did. She encouraged women particularly, and all of
citizens in general. “Habis Gelap Terbitlah Terang”, Kartini’s letters,
described the situation of Indonesia at that time, when women got limited
access compare to the men. It can be said, it is not only the letters. But, it
is the moment when Indonesia ladies woke up, rose to achieve their dream, to be
a part of this country, not limited to the race, sex, religion, tribes and so
on.
The way to achieve that is not
easy as struggling is difficult, but soon we’ll find the light in the middle of
problems. We have to make real the education that can be accessed for all
Indonesian, to achieve their dream, to grow the nationalism in their spirit. We
have to try helping poor people with our own way, taking care of them who want
to need our attention. Go and tell your dream to the world!
